Back in March of this year one of our Chow Chow rescue dogs, Winnie (the dog on the right) passed away at the age of nearly 15. Today, Pooh Bear (the dog on the left) passed away quietly at the age of 15. These dogs, in addition to being our closest friends, companions and protectors, were the models for 'Dino', the title character in "The Adventures of Dinosaur Dog" book series: Winnie, for her spirit, curiosity and tenacity; and Pooh Bear for his good heart and his classic Chow Chow good looks. During their life with us, we never had an intruder or break-in at our home. They were two rescue dogs - Winnie from the San Clemente, CA Animal Shelter and Pooh Bear from the Costa Mesa, CA Animal Shelter. While we may have "rescued" them - they made our lives complete. When considering adopting a dog - please take the time to visit your local animal shelter. You will never find a better companion and they will love you for it. Scott & Susie Sutton

Beautiful dogs, Scott. I'm sure you'll miss them... but I hope you find some new best friends for your future stories.

I am sorry for your loss Scott. It is so unfortunate dog bodys don't survive as long as humans do and you have to say goodbye before you are ready. They live on in your words and will stay with you in many ways, always.
